About Me!
“Grow through what you go through”. I like to call myself a “WHY” therapist. I believe that clients grow through their experiences starting from their “roots” (or their childhood). I believe that growing through experiences that may have stemmed from traumatic events in life or maladaptive ways of being, are the pinnacle of a therapeutic experience. I am here to guide you on your journey to self-actualization and improved mental health.
I offer online and in-person mental health support in the form of individual counselling, couples counselling, and/or family counselling! I specialize in working with addictions, anxiety/phobias, OCD, BPD, ADHD, and trauma. I use an integrative approach meaning I can use the style of therapy that best suits you!
Through personal experience with counselling and supporting others with their mental health, I have developed a passion for working in mental health. We will grow together through connection, empathy and hopefully, some laughs and smiles. When I am not counselling, you can find me at your local coffee shop reading a book or outside enjoying the sunshine.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE…
Reading
Some might call me a bit of a bookworm… I absolutely love to read and always have about 4 different books on the go so I can read depending on what I am in the mood for! A mix of fiction and non-fiction are usually on my shelf, but my favourite genre is fantasy!
Travelling
I still have yet to travel the world, but I do love to explore. Sometimes the best exploring is in your own backyard! Pictured above is me in Paris (top left), me in Belgium (top right), me and my friend in Oyama (bottom left) and me taking photos with my partner just outside Whistler (bottom right).
Animal Friends
This is my dog Ellie! She is the sweetest dog you will ever meet and has been a huge support in my life.
Education/Training
I hold a Bachelor of Arts with an Honours in Psychology from the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus as well as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a published author in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships where my work focuses on mobile communication in romantic relationships. Since my work in her undergraduate degree, I have been working the front line at my local crisis line, working in the local youth shelter, and I am currently employed with an organization that works with people recovering from addictions. I have been working in the mental health field since 2017, during which time I attended school to become a certified clinical counsellor. I am registered with the British Columbia Governing Body (BCACC Member Number 24331) and have years of experience to support my work. My experience working with vulnerable populations has taught me the compassion and non-judgement needed to support others with their mental health. In addition to ongoing experience and learning in the field, I have attended the following training opportunities:
Ethics Training
Substance Use and Abuse Trainings
CBT for OCD Training by APT
BCACC: Understanding and Supporting Clients with Brain Injury and Concussion
BCACC 2025 Conference: Cultivating Connections
Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD by CBI
Gottman Couples Therapy Training
